Multicomp Pro warranty
Terms and Conditions
- The following Multicomp Pro product is guaranteed to operate properly during the warranty period set out below
- Multicomp Pro Test Equipment (three (3) years from the date of purchase).
- Multicomp Pro Soldering Stations, Rework Systems, Desoldering Stations & Irons (three (3) years from the date of purchase).
- Multicomp Pro Hand Tools (three (3) years from the date of purchase).
- all other Multicomp Pro products inclusive of Test Accessories & Soldering Accessories/Consumable, (one (1) year from the date of purchase).
- If the product came with an AC adapter, the adapter is warrantied for one (1) year from the date of purchase.
- Software programs (Software) are supplied on the strict understanding that Multicomp Pro does not warrant their function to be free from defects or error and any claim made by the Customer in relation to any alleged defects or error or maintenance or support or updates or lack thereof in any Software provided by Multicomp Pro to the Customer will be governed under the applicable End User License Agreement (EULA) and must be made against the licensor under the EULA.
- The accuracy of measured values and other data generated by the product is guaranteed as described in the product specifications.
- In the event that the product or AC adapter malfunctions during its respective warranty period due to a defect of workmanship or materials, Multicomp Pro will repair or replace the product or AC adapter free of charge.
- The following malfunctions and issues are not covered by the warranty and as such are not subject to free repair or replacement:
- Malfunctions or damage of consumables, parts with a defined service life, etc.
- Malfunctions or damage of connectors, cables, etc.
- Malfunctions or damage caused by shipment, dropping, relocation, etc., after purchase of the product.
- Malfunctions or damage caused by inappropriate handling that violates information found in the instruction manual or on precautionary labelling on the product itself.
- Malfunctions or damage caused by a failure to perform maintenance or inspections as required by law or recommended in the instruction manual.
- Malfunctions or damage caused by fire, storms or flooding, earthquakes, lightning, power anomalies (involving voltage, frequency, etc.), waror unrest, contamination with radiation, or other acts of God.
- Damage that is limited to the product's appearance (cosmetic blemishes, deformation of enclosure shape, fading of colour, etc.).
- Deterioration of the cosmetic appearance of the product or accessory due to normal wear & tear.
- Exposure to extreme thermal or environmental conditions, or rapid change in such conditions, oxidation, or corrosion.
- Other malfunctions or damage for which Multicomp Pro is not responsible.
- The warranty will be considered invalidated in the following circumstances, in which case Multicomp Pro will be unable to perform service such as repair or calibration:
- If the product has been repaired or modified by a company, entity, or individual other than Multicomp Pro.
- If the product has been embedded in another piece of equipment for use in a special application (aerospace, nuclear power, medical use, vehicle control, etc.) without Multicomp Pro's having received prior notice.
- If you experience a loss caused by use of the product and Multicomp Pro determines that it is responsible for the underlying issue, Multicomp Pro will provide compensation in an amount not to exceed the purchase price, with the following exceptions:
- Secondary damage arising from damage to a measured device or component that was caused by use of the product.
- Damage arising from measurement results provided by the product.
- Damage to a device other than the product that was sustained when connecting the device to the product (including via network connections).
- Multicomp Pro reserves the right to decline to perform repair, calibration, or other service for products for which a certain amount of time has passed since their manufacture, products whose parts have been discontinued, and products that cannot be repaired due to unforeseen circumstances.
- The Customer acknowledges that it is their responsibility for ensuring that the products are fit for the purpose for which they intend to use them and that Multicomp Pro cannot warrant or guarantee the product for fitness for any purpose unless specifically held out by Multicomp Pro.
- Prior to returning any products to Multicomp Pro under these warranty terms, the Customer must contact Multicomp Pro for approval and to obtain a returns material authorisation number (RMA).
- All products under these warranty terms will be returned at the Customer’s risk and where possible in its original packaging. The Customer is responsible for returning products to Multicomp Pro and for providing proof of delivery of such return.
- Where the Customer returns products alleged to be defective otherwise than in accordance with these warranty terms then Multicomp Pro may refuse such products and return them to the Customer at the cost of the Customer and the Customer may also be liable for and costs incurred by Multicomp Pro for testing and any other ancillary costs in relation to the return.
- No support and maintenance services in respect of any Software will be provided by Multicomp Pro to the Customer except those specifically referred to in the order for such Software.
- The Customer grants to Multicomp Pro and its employees, agents and representatives a right to enter onto its premises to effect any repair or replacement under these warranty terms. The Customer shall ensure that Multicomp Pro’s employees, agents and representatives are provided with a safe and secure working environment while at its premises and the Customer shall be responsible for isolating any computers or processors requiring repair or replacement from its network and for making backup copies of any information on such computers or processors before the arrival of Multicomp Pro’s employees, agents or representatives on the Customer’s premises.
- Multicomp Pro does not exclude any warranty or liability which cannot be excluded pursuant to the law, such as liability for personal injury or death arising as a result of Multicomp Pro’s negligence, wilful misconduct, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for any matter which it would be illegal for Multicomp Pro to exclude or to attempt to exclude its liability. Any warranty or liability that cannot be fully excluded will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and to the warranty period set out in these terms of warranty.
- For the avoidance of doubt and notwithstanding the above, Multicomp Pro’s only obligation under the Warranty is to repair or replace the defective product in accordance with Condition 3, and Multicomp Pro shall not be liable for any loss or damage to products, service, the Warranty or otherwise, or for any indirect or consequential loss including loss for any injury, death, damage or direct loss or indirect or consequential loss or pure economic loss, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of use, loss of data, computer downtime, depletion of goodwill, business interruption, increased purchasing or manufacturing costs, loss of opportunity, loss of contracts and like loss or for any loss or damage which is not a reasonably foreseeable. This applies whether that loss or damage relates to – a) impaired, or the non-operation of, products through defects or through unavailability (while with Multicomp Pro) causing downtime, loss of user time or business interruption; or b) inaccuracy of output from the products or associated products.
- In any event, subject to Condition 14, the liability of Multicomp Pro for any and all claims, damages and causes of action arising out of any breach of the Warranty will be limited to the 80% of price paid for such Warranty.
